Spring Crop Weekend - THANK YOU!!!

Thank you to all who came out and scrapbooked (or made cards, or just relaxed) with us this past weekend at the Dolce.  Some photos from the weekend are posted in the Spring Crop 2010 Photo Album.  Check them out - you may see yourself!!

Our Summer Crop Weekend is planned for the Dolce from August 13-15, 2010.  Early bird pricing for the Summer Weekend is valid through June 30.  To download the registration form, please click here.

Massage Schedule!!!

Ok, the long awaited massage schedule is being posted. If anyone is interested in taking a spot e-mail Melissa @ lyssa9282@yahoo.com. We will be offering one hour table massages and also chair massages and reflexology. The schedule that is below is for the table massages; the sign ups for the other massages will take place at the weekend.

We will only have one massage therapists, Diane, doing the table massages and Aletha will be doing the chair and reflexology.

The price for table massages is $70 for an hour.

Technique Time Class Samples

You'll create a 7 page book, with a cover page & 6 techniques.

Each page will contain a sample of the technique you'll learn...

...as well as instructions on how to re-create it when you get home!!!

What a great way to learn how to do more with the supplies you already have!!!!

Technique Time: taught by Jen Peel

Learn 6 stamping techniques in this great new class!  You’ll create samples for 6 techniques that will all be mounted on a top-note die-cut.  You’ll also create a cover page and all 7 pages will be punched and put together on a book ring.  Instructions for each technique will be included, so you can go home & recreate the techniques over & over. 
At future weekends, this class will be offered again (but always with new techniques) so you can add to your ring.  What a great way to learn more about how to use the products you already have!!!  
Please bring adhesive, scissors, paper trimmer, and glue dots to the class.

Learn how to use new products to create amazing jewelry that is sure to get you many compliments.
You'll use paper clay, gold and silver leaf, scrabble tiles and more!

SPRING WEEKEND CARD SWAP

Spring is a time for "rebirth".  This May crop weekend, join in the card swap and "rebuild" your card supply for the next couple months.

• Create a "birthday" card for anyone...female, male, friend, child, relative...etc. Or keep the card "generic" so that the other participants can turn the card into a Thank You card...or anything they choose.
• You will duplicate your created card for everyone who participates in the swap.
• Be as creative or as simple as you choose.
• We will swap cards in a group to see each other's work.
• You do not need to include an envelope, unless you wish to.

Please contact Jenn at stampinjenn@yahoo.comto participate.  All who are interested in joining the swap MUST contact me by April 30th to give all the participants enough time to create enough cards for everyone, before the crop!

In the past, all of the participants have been wonderful and everyone was blessed with a stack of AWESOME cards.

 “SNACK ATTACK” SWAP

Ok, there is nothing better than “snacking” while scrapping.  A snack can be just about anything when the hunger starts and you are busy creating your masterpiece.

This Spring Crop, our big “food” swap will be “snacks”.  Like I said, a snack can be just about anything that makes you happy when you scrap…chocolate, chips, candy, cookies, pretzels, brownies…etc.  Think about the snack you prefer when you scrap and share some with the rest of the group!  Be as creative or as simple as you want to be!  Remember, this is FUN!  So jojn in the fun and SHARE A SNACK!

Alphabet Swap

Die Cutting an Alphabet in your favorite font.

·    Create your own “letters” for sharing. 

·    Any Die Cutting machine can be used!!! 

·    Think about texture and material.  You could use cardstock, patterned paper, textured paper, fabric, chipboard, metal, felt, vinyl…etc (of course, if your machine will cut various types of material.  But keep it to one kind of material. 

·    Think about trying to keep it “neutral” colored.  Example: try not to use baby paper, or birthday paper.  We want the participants to use these letters for whatever they choose to use it on and if you use baby paper, a participant may not be making any baby pages. 

·    Alphabets can be in upper or lower case letters…you choose.

Here is what should be in each “swap” package.

Vowels – 4 of each vowel in the alphabet

3 of each of the following – B,C,D,F,G,H,K,L,M,N,P,R,S,T,

2 of each of the following – J, Q, V, W, X,Y,Z

 

33-Hours Left for the Spring Crop Weekend Early Bird Pricing

Just a quick note to let you know that if you haven't already registered for our Spring Crop Weekend, you only have until 11:59 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow (Wednesday) to qualify for the Early Bird Discount.
 
You'll still be able to register after tomorrow night, but it'll cost you up to an additional $10.

The Spring Crop Weekend is from May 13-15, 2010. Only 13 spaces are still available.  Currently all packages from single day to full weekend are available.

All packages include great music, a great space, an aisle seat, an awesome goodie bag, and the opportunity to participate in swaps, games, and contests.  And, we also bring the spa to you!!  Both chair massages and private table massages will be available to complete your perfect girls' getaway weekend!!!  For more detailed information, check out this link.

Secret Pal Swap

One Big highlight from our crop weekends is the ever popular, secret pal swap.  How cool would it be when your name is called out to pick up a surprise at the help desk, or you find a little gift on your scrapping space when you leave for a little while.  Here is a chance to get some goodies that you wouldn't go out and get for yourself.  Or create a "wish list" of supplies and things you would like to have for the weekend.

Here is how it works;

As a secret pal, you will fill out a questionnaire "privately" to the coordinator of the swap.  The Swap coordinator will put all the participants names in a hat and give each person a pal.  You will then receive your pals questionnaire to learn more about her.  You may or may not know them, but either way, you’ll want to keep yourself secret!!!  You’ll want to make your secret pal feel very special by giving her gifts before and (especially) during the weekend.  You may want to send her a card or 2 before hand, buy her some scrapping supplies (I think chocolate counts for this, too!!) to give her during the weekend, and don’t forget - hand made gifts are always fun too!!  We suggest keeping the total amount of money that you spend around $40.  Keep in mind, someone will be giving YOU gifts all weekend too!!!  On Saturday night, we will have a “reveal”, so you can finally introduce and/or reveal yourself to your secret pal as well as find out who your pal was.
